SignalGeneriX presents new technologies at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London

On Thursday, 22nd of May 2014, at the Headquarters of the IMO in London, a delegation of the European Project Lynceus, consisting of the Technical Project manager SignalGeneriX Ltd, Louis Cruises and Lloyds Register, presented the innovative Lynceus technologies and explained how these can be used in order to improve safety in maritime transportation. The presentation was given during the technical meeting of the IMO Maritime Safety Committee -MSC- 93, after receiving invitation from Cyprus Representation at IMO.

Dr Antonis Kalis, the head of telecommunications and sensor networks of SignalGeneriX presented the project and the innovative technologies and answered questions form the IMO committee members. The Lynceus presentation was well accepted with positive comments from the committee, taking into consideration the recent major accidents of passenger ships which cost hundreds of lives.

The presentation of Lynceus at IMO confirms the big interest of the shipping industry in technological solutions which provide greater safety to ships. According to a senior member of the organization: “The presentation of Lynceus’ technologies to the technical committee is a great success for this European project”. This success indicates that the shipping industry may soon adopt these innovative technologies in order to improve safety onboard.
