Cyprus Hosts Inaugural International Defence and Security Conference

In a historic collaboration with CD Multimedia Services, Cyprus proudly organized its inaugural Cyprus International Defence and Security Conference, aptly titled “BATTLEFIELD ReDEFiNED – The Conference.” Held in Limassol from January 23rd to 24th, 2023, this landmark event served as a crucial platform for bringing together national and international experts from various domains. Its primary goals were to showcase cutting-edge defence technologies, introduce the latest trends, and spotlight the formidable capabilities of the Cyprus Defence Industry.

Under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the conference received substantial support from the Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG-DEFIS), and the European Defence Agency. Notably, the conference also facilitated significant steps toward European industrial collaboration within the Cypriot Defence Cluster. It achieved this through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG – ΕΕΛΕΑΑ) and the active participation of the French Maritime Industry Group GICAN. With the participation of over 180 professionals and esteemed guests, including the Minister of Defence Mr. Charalambos Petrides and the President of the Defence Committee of the Parliament Mr. Marinos Sizopoulos, this conference marked a pivotal moment in Cyprus’ journey to redefine its role in the global defence and security landscape.
