Cooperation between Greek and Cypriot Associations for the Defense Industry

A new era in the relations between the defence industries of Greece and Cyprus started with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the 23rd of January 2023 in Limassol, Cyprus. The two parties implicated are the Association of Hellenic Aerospace, Security and Defence Companies (E.EL.EAA – HASDIG) and the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (K.S.EEK – CARIE).

SignalGeneriX CEO and president of K.S.EEK, Dr. Tasos Kounoudes signed, together with E.EL.EAA president, Mr. Nikolaos Papatsas, in the presence of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Charalambos Petrides, and the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou.

The goal of the Memorandum is to reinforce the cooperation between the defence industries of both countries at a bilateral, European and international levels. There are already companies from both countries participating in multinational Research and Development programs funded by the EU researching new security and defence systems. This cooperation will also help the defence industries of Greece and Cyprus to increase their network to European and international markets.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during a two-day conference, BATTLEFIELD ReDEFiNED 2023, which concluded with great success on the 24th of January 2023, in Limassol, Cyprus.
