Agreement between SignalGeneriX and Slovenian company DAT-CON for the LYNX anti-drone system
SignalGeneriX has agreed with the Slovenian company DAT-CON the co-production of the LYNX anti-drone system.
The agreement took place during the international defence and security exhibition, Eurosatory 2024 in Paris.
LYNX is a system for detecting and dealing with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It could be used for guarding critical infrastructure and border guarding. LYNX consists of four subsystems, a radar, the radiofrequency detector (RF detector), a long-range observation system and high-power radio frequency jammers to neutralise flying threats with soft-skill methods.
The 3D radar scans a 360×90 degree perimeter while the RF Detector detects and identifies a fairly large percentage of commercially available drones, according to the company. The RF Jammer can neutralize drones with soft-kill methods by jamming the GPS, the controller, or both.
Its modular structure allows for the addition of options according to user requirements, such as additional radars for increased range, GPS Spoofer, remote-controlled weapon station, and high-energy laser system for neutralizing drones with hard-kill methods.
The LYNX system can detect up to 40 drones simultaneously. Each drone is detected within approximately two seconds within the coverage area. The system has also been awarded by FRONTEX in a competition for the best European system for detecting and responding to (detecting and disabling) unmanned aerial vehicles.
SignalGeneriX and DAT-CON have already collaborated on a major project in Cyprus, the coastal surveillance system of the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre, which has been operating on the island for the past few years without any problems and with great success.
