Strategic Collaboration: SignalGeneriX, CMMI and French Partners Sign MoU on Underwater Autonomy
Cypriot company SignalGeneriX, together with the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) and the French companies Arkeocean and Lanego, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint research and product development in the field of autonomous underwater systems. The signing took place in the presence of the Ambassador of France to Cyprus, Ms. Salina Grenet-Catalano, and a representative of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the 14th of May in Larnaca by Zacharias Siokouros, CEO of CMMI, Tasos Kounoudes, CEO of SignalGeneriX Ltd, Thierry Brizard, President of ARKEOCEAN, and Philippe Amar, President of LANEGO.
The parties will cooperate on projects of mutual interest to develop technologies in marine robotics, swarm systems, autonomous underwater vehicles, underwater detection, communications, and data processing for maritime traffic monitoring, critical infrastructure protection, and monitoring marine protected areas.
The Memorandum of Understanding clears the way for a promising future in research and innovation in areas such as underwater infrastructure monitoring, underwater data collection, processing and communication, environmental monitoring, artificial corals and reefs, marine health, aquaculture development, and underwater cultural heritage. As well as strengthening bilateral relations between France and Cyprus, reaffirming their joint commitment to facilitating research exchanges and cooperation in maritime and naval science and technology.
