SignalGeneriX awards for top performing University students
SignalGeneriX is dedicated to promoting young scientists and inspiring interest in science and technology among university students. The company has established the ‘SignalGeneriX best final year award’ which is given to top performing students of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science at University of Cyprus. The aim of the sponsorship is to bring students closed to industrial high-tech research, and inspire them to pursue careers in engineering, science and technology.
Associate Professor Christos Panayiotou from UCY commented: ‘We are delighted that the support from SignalGeneriX Continues for a second consecutive year. We believe that the award will raise students awareness of R&D and enable them to consider the industrial scientific and engineering research environment as an attractive career path.’
The receivers of the SignalGeneriX awards for 2009 were Mr Christos Toffis from the Electrical and Computer Engineering department and Mr Demetres Hoplaros from the Computer Science department. Both students produced excellent final year projects in the fields of FPGA implementations and Telemedicine respectively.
