“Cyprus and Greece Forge Historic Defense Partnership: A New Era in Cooperation”
In a historic moment that signifies a significant step forward in the realm of defense collaboration, the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Companies (CARIE) and the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG – ΕΕΛΕΑΑ) came together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This momentous occasion unfolded on Monday, January 23, 2023, in the vibrant city of Limassol, Cyprus, amid the prestigious international conference, BATTLEFIELD ReDEFiNED – The Conference. Graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Charalambos Petrides, and the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, this collaboration promises to usher in a new era of defense cooperation between the two nations.
Underlining the magnitude of this partnership, CARIE and HASDIG have already embarked on a joint journey by participating in seven EDIDP/EDF contracts with a combined budget of 77 Million euros.
