The high level of the Ministry of Defence’s innovative technologies was praised by Josep Borrell at a European Innovation Day
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Head of the European Defence Agency, Josep Borrell, praised the high level of the Ministry of Defence’s innovative technologies during his visit to the Cyprus pavilion at the 1st European Defence Innovation Day.
The Conference was organized by the European Defence Agency, under the auspices of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU, in Brussels, on May 31, 2022, and according to a statement by the Ministry, 19 states participated in it.
The Cypriot Ministry of Defence was represented with its own pavilion where different SMEs active in Research and Development in the Defence and Security Sector attended.
The Cypriot pavilion was not only attended by Mr. Borell but also by Jiří Šedivý, Executive Director of the European Defence Agency. Mr. Borrell was informed about the defence innovations of SignalGeneriX Ltd, expressing satisfaction with the high level of innovative technologies that enhance the capacity and strategic autonomy of the EU, whose needs are increased in security matters.
Dr. Tasos Kounoudes, CEO of SignalGeneriX informed Mr. Borell about the innovative technologies being developed by SignalGeneriX and the company’s participation in European consortiums to create a new generation of electronic products for the European Defence Industry. Dr. Kounoudes also thanked for the support and financial opportunities offered by the European Defence Fund, encouraging synergies between member states, for the research, development and co-production of European defence products and technologies.
