Audiovisual Content Digitisation and Multimedia Metadata Extraction, Authoring and Storing based on MPEG-7 (PSIFIORIKSI)
Project Overview
The main objective of the project was the research and development of technologies in the area of digitisation, annotation and management of audiovisual content in order to facilitate access through the Internet, for educational, research and commercial purposes. A prototype application was developed where audiovisual media from Greek Broadcasting Corporation and Television (ERT) and Limassol Historical Archive and Museum (LHAM) were digitised and archived. The procedure was based on the latest technologies that ensure an easy, economic and secure access through the internet.
