Advanced multi-UAV and intelligent launching-recovery system for enhancing the search and surveillance continuous operations
Project Overview:
The HARESS project is set to innovate maritime civilian operations across various European regions through the development of a cloud-supported autonomous multi-UAV platform aimed at enhancing Search and Surveillance Operations (SSO). This initiative addresses critical challenges such as boat migration, false distress signals, and illegal maritime activities, which have collectively caused substantial human and economic losses. The project introduces a multi-UAV system for autonomous operations, an intelligent Launching and Recovery platform adaptable to unmanned surface vehicles and ships, and a centralized command center employing machine learning for improved detection and tracking. With the goal of refining the existing TRL4 prototype to TRL7, HARESS represents a strategic partnership among consortium partners, focusing on large-scale technology demonstrations, promoting its unique benefits, and creating a robust dissemination and exploitation strategy.
