Energy-Efficient Embedded and Mobile Multiprocessor System-on-Chip Architectures (EMPSOC)
Project Overview
The EMPSOC project aimed to apply system-level optimization algorithms in order to reduce the energy of mobile and embedded processors by at least 10% more than existing system-level energy reduction algorithms, while maintaining performance and reliability. The algorithms were designed in hardware, and were prototyped on FPGA technology. Additionally, the project aimed to create a GUI Visualization environment where the implemented algorithms were utilized, aiding embedded and mobile system designers to synthesize energy efficient processors using the Multiprocessor System-On-Chip (MPSoC) design paradigm.
